If your hard drive crashes, as ours did recently, what is the most important thing to get back? Well if you are a guy, then apparently your music is the precious thing! It happened to us when my partner came back with his laptop in a rucksack that was not secured at the top. An affectionate embrace from me caused the bag to shift on his shoulder and the laptop crashed on to the floor. Most of the files were regularly backed up on a memory stick. However there was NO backup of the playlists that were so carefully compiled. They were locked in his iPod because those files are read-only.
