I have only recently realised the importance of having a good toolkit at your disposal.  The reason is that I have acted as a buy to let landlord, needing to have a portable base to make running repairs.  I have only limited space in the car for tool storage so I have to pack light. Most things can be settled with a screwdriver, a hammer or some nails, I find.
