Revive your online business

Six Ways to Make Your Online Business Fresh

While it’s no secret that online businesses are the wave of the future, doesn’t it seem like some businesses are constantly staying ahead of everyone else, while others lag behind, looking out of date and irrelevant? When you’re trying to create a successful online business, you can’t afford to seem like you’re falling behind the rest of the virtual ‘pack,’ so what can you do? Here are six ways to make sure that your online business stays current and fresh – no matter what you sell.

Have a Timeless Idea

Though you might be selling the latest popular products on the market right now, that’s not always the best investment for the future. Because times and trends will change, you need to be selling something that will never go out of style or fall out of use. Of course, you can’t guarantee anything, so you might want to simply try to address a timeless idea. For example, you might want to create a business that helps people save time – that’s always something that a customer will pay for.

Change Up Your Website

When you change your website from time to time, you will show the customers that you are interested in being innovative – even if you simply just change the colors or the layout. Try to add new pictures or fresh articles to your website to help make the content new and different. This will keep people coming back to your business site to see what else you might have changed when they were away.

Update your Products

You don’t have to change what you sell in order to be relevant, but you should try to update your products from time to time. For example, if you are selling patio sets, you might want to change the labelling or the packaging occasionally. You can also try taking out certain ingredients or adding new ingredients to help make your product better. Try listening to what your customers want (and don’t want) in your products, and see how you can address their needs.

Focus on New Selling Points

With nearly any product, there are going to be several reasons why a customer should buy it. It might be the latest design, it might offer a lighter weight, etc. Create a list of the good qualities for each of your products and then be sure to focus on only one of those qualities at a time, then switch up your website writing to show this change in focus. This will make your products always seem new and exciting because they always have something different to offer a customer.

Take it into Real Life

By heading to a sales convention or a trade show from time to time, you will continue to show that your business is innovative and accessible to your customers. Show them new things that you are selling or simply give customers a chance to see who you are. These shows can not only provide you with access to new customers, but also to networking opportunities and ideas about how others are keeping things fresh.

Have Press Releases

When you announce big ideas about your business, your customers will see that you are always trying something new. Of course, you will need to follow through on what you release in these statements, but you can simply write up a summary of the newest innovations and post it on your website for your customer to view. This will show that you are always going to have something exciting to share – even if it’s just a small change to your product line.

money making websites

How to Start Your Very Own Money Making Website

People all across the world are benefiting financially due to the internet and how it has grown to its massive proportion. The fact is, it’s only getting bigger and more easy for people to spend money and make money online. Starting your own website today may provide you with all you need to financially secure your future. Most people think that starting up a website is too complex and done only by trained computer engineers. At one point maybe, but today the internet is user friendly and anyone can start up their very own money making website.

The first thing you need to do is figure out exactly what niche you want your site to be in. Sports, money, books, animals, schools, etc. Whatever genre you choose does not matter. There are money making opportunities in any niche where you think people may be interested in what you can provide. Whether that be a tangible product or intangible like information, if you can bring visitors to your website on a daily basis, you can earn income online.

Once you have your niche selected you need to choose and register your own domain name. This is the fun part! You get to choose the name of your very own place on the web. Many domains are gone so you really have to be creative with your selection. Of course it goes without saying, but select it with your niche in mind. For example, if your niche is Olukai footwear, make your domain something like olukaisandals.com. If you don’t know what to choose or if everything you pick is already in use, www dot yourname dot com will most likely still be available and always a great choice.

The next step after choosing your own domain name is to select a reputable company to host your site. There are many different hosting choices and each have there own advantages and disadvantages. The ones that are free and/or cheap are okay for certain niches but I don’t recommend them because a lot of the times they will require you to put their ads on your website. Those types of sites also do not allow you to sell or promote certain things and will limit you on the amount of space you can use and the amount of traffic you can receive. Find one whose server has a reputable history of staying intact and one that will allow you to have unlimited space and visitors.

The last thing you need to know is how to make your own website. Advanced knowledge of html is no longer required but some experience is helpful. There is a lot of free software that will assist in making web pages. Many are just as easy to use as Microsoft Word or Excel. Otherwise you can outsource the dirty work to professionals who will do a bang up job for a relatively low price. My advice would be to save the money and learn some basic html. It really is easy and you should be able to have your own website up and running after just a couple of hours of studying.

The steps in this article are very basic but I wanted people to be aware that it is easy to get your own website. Not only are normal people making money online, they are getting rich doing it! The internet and its search engines has made it possible for the individual person to market to the entire world! That means if you advertise correctly, you can make a living with your website and never have to work for someone ever again!

Writing online

Internet Authors don’t need fame

It must be awful being a publisher. Working in a Traditional Publishing firm must be like working in the industry of flood prevention in Holland. In that country, nearly seventy per cent of the land is lower than the sea level, so it’s a constant battle to make sure that the barriers and dykes are well serviced and watertight, otherwise water will flood in and houses and people will be overwhelmed. Publishers say they know that feeling. In their case it’s not water, though, it’s brown envelopes. Every day the postman staggers in to their office with a heavy sack on their shoulder – like Santa at Christmas Eve – and unloads a stack of submissions onto any spare surface available – desk, shelf or floor. Then minions have to turn the envelopes over and try and identify who they’re from and whether they’re worth reading. Anything with a famous name will get looked at. Most other stuff hangs about for a bit, and then gets returned. If you’re not famous, you’re ignored. Tough but true. Read more »

Do you need to get a website?

Does a small business really need a website?

As a Virtual Assistant, I specialise not just in web design but also in business development and administrative services. I have found many people with small businesses often wondering as to whether a website would really benefit them.

Here is the answer to the question all small business owners ask.

Do I really need a website? Answer: YES! Here is why…

1. Introduce your products and services: These are the days of “Enquiry Marketing”. Make your business available 24 hours a day and allow your customers to be in control.

2. Become Recognised: Differentiate yourself from your competitors with clear, recognisable branding while showcasing your products and services to the world.

3. Boost Sales: Explain benefits, compare products, and publish testimonials from happy customers.

4. Earn More: Subsidise income and demonstrate knowledge by selling e-books for people to learn from.

5. Professionalism: A letter from “you@yourbusiness.com” will open more doors than an email from a hotmail account.

6. Be Found: People use locally defined keywords in the search engines, “best diet pills on the market“, for example. This will lead them to your place of business, opening times, contact information, location and more.

7. Collate Valuable Information: An enquiry form on a website can provide you with a lot of valuable information from customers and other interested people.

8. Marketing & Advertising: Newspapers and Magazines have 2 significant disadvantages when advertising. 1) Once printed updating them is difficult and costly 2) The information you can print is limited. A web site can be updated instantly with little or no cost involved.

9. Promote: Do you promote your business at workshops or tradeshows? Increase awareness and advertise the event on your website.

10. People Buy People: A well-developed website displays a viable business, conveying trust and credibility while gaining loyal customers.

When choosing to purchase a website, using a virtual assistant will give you a lot more for your money and also the opportunity to take your website further once it has been developed.

So what are the benefits of working with the right Virtual Assistant?

More than just a Web Designer: When purchasing a VA website package you get a professional designer that offers excellent marketing and business advice including usability consulting and search engine optimisation. Your website will not only look great, it will be easy to find and user friendly.

Diverse: A VA can design and deliver other marketing materials such as business cards, brochures, flyers and more.

Professional: Most VA’s will have a large repertoire of business experience, skills and knowledge enabling them to be a valuable asset in assisting you to achieve your business goals.

Efficient: The services of a VA are delivered when you need them with completions to tight deadlines.

Convenient: As most Virtual Assistants work from home they can be available when you need them.

Affordable: There is always a VA to suit all budgets, and many offer package deals which include support and administration services to compliment your website.

Independent: As an independent service provider a VA is able to negotiate project work, hours and rates and many offer a free no obligation consultation.

Earn recurring commissions

4 Ways To Make Recurring Commissions

I like to promote programs that offer recurring commissions. Either that or I like to create my own programs within the programs I am in. The reasons should be obvious! In this article we will look at 4 ways you can earn recurring commissions.

Would you like to get paid one time, or would you like to get paid over and over? By over and over I mean get paid every month for doing your work one time. This is also known as residual income and you should learn to love this concept.

This is one of those “DUH” moments that has come to define my own internet marketing career. Getting paid over and over is one sure fire way to financial security and early retirement. Read more »

Get visitors to your free articles

“I’m writing lots of free content for my website, but still nobody comes. What can I do?”

Having launched more than 100 specialist content websites for clients over the last six months, I often get asked this question. My answer is always twofold.

Over the long term, which I suggest is 12 to 24 months, good-quality, highly focused and regularly updated content websites will triumph.

Google and the search engines are getting far better at separating the wheat from the chaff. They are 100% focused on finding the best content for each particular search request.

Once the search engines have visited your site and made an initial positive assessment, they will keep coming back and re-indexing your content. The more content you publish, the more frequently they will return. The more they like what they see, the higher they will rank you on the search results pages. The higher up the results list you appear, the more people will see your links and click on them. Hopefully, some of these visitors like what they read so much that they link to it from their websites or blogs. These inbound links from other sites are seen as positive endorsements of your content by the search engines, which respond by improving your site’s position on the search results pages.

And so the virtuous circle goes on and the traffic to your website increases.

The moral of this story is: keep publishing great content and don’t give up just because you don’t see instant results.

But this all takes time. Read more »
